About Us

History

Los Fiordos was born in 1989. For 25 years we have been dedicated to giving our best towards delivering quality products while respecting our environment and focusing on our people. We began operations farming Coho Salmon and Trout. In 1999 we introduced farming of Atlantic salmon and today we focus on the development, spawning, fattening, processing and marketing of these three species. We also have a food plant, which allows us to conduct a completely integrated process and ensure the quality and sustainability of our products.

Since the beginning, our company has been guided by values that have allowed us to grow without losing the sense of what we do. We put soul and passion into our work every day. We know that people are the backbone of Los Fiordos and that by helping the environment we are also taking care of the future. Therefore, we produce healthy salmon, which contribute to improving the quality of life of our employees and customers.

Mission

In Los Fiordos Ltd. we are devoted to the design, production, exploitation, processing and marketing of salmon species. We are committed to complying with current and applicable regulations and control our processes in order to develop and obtain high-quality, safe and assured products for the consumer, the salmon being a superior food source. We aim to satisfy our customers by preventing pollution and committing to the health and safety of our employees, therefore, we focus on continuous improvement and ethics as part of our management. This mission involves all our employees and every link in the production chain of our company.

Región de La Araucanía

Melipeuco Fish Farm

It was built in 2004, features fully controlled environments and an open flow system, fed by springs. Its production capacity is of 10 billion 60-gram Atlantic salmon smolts.

Curarrehue Fish Farm

It was built between 2005 and 2006, has fully controlled environments and an open flow system, fed by springs. Its production capacity is of 14 billion 60-gram Atlantic salmon smolts.

Catripulli Fish Farm

It is a broodstock fish farm with Atlantic salmon, which are grown in a closed cycle 100% in freshwater. It has high standards of biosecurity and its production capacity is of 80 billion eyed eggs, plus the genetics program of the company.

 

Región de Los Lagos

Pargua Food Plant

This plant has two production lines, was built in 2007 and has a capacity to produce 185 tons of food a year.

Quellon Processing Plant

It was built in 2001 and in 2003 the live harvesting system was implemented, which allows for processing the salmon in their pre-rigor state, ensuring excellence in product quality. Its production capacity is 130 thousand tons per year.

Región de Aysén

Madgalena Fish Farm

This fish broodstock of Trout and Coho has the highest standards of biosecurity and has a production capacity of 14 billion eyed-eggs of both species, as well as the genetic program by means of selecting families of the company.

Melinka Feedlot Center

With 14 operating centers for the production of Atlantic salmon and trout, it also has 52 marine concessions approved for operation, 19 under approval and 152 pending. The base is located on the island of Melinka.

Puerto Cisnes FeedLot

The production of Atlantic salmon, Coho and trout, is carried out in eight operational centers. The base is located in the town of Puerto Cisnes.

Emperador Fish Farm

It was built in 2001 with an open flow system and converted to a water recirculation system in 2005. It has fully controlled environments and its production capacity is 12.45 billion 60-gram smolts.
